Q. How do I get rid of a fat belly?
A. Begin doing real strength training, do the big compound exercises, lots of squats, deadlifts, weighted lunges, overhead presses, bench presses, pull ups and their easier variations, run, jump and play. Use different methods; bars, dumbbells, kettlebells etc. Basically ‘move your ass to tone your entire body’. I also love basic gymnastics and any form of body weight movements.
These exercises build muscle on your whole body as well as get you very lean quickly. There is no such thing as getting fat off of your belly without also getting it off your whole body.
Compare your body fat to a bath tub full of water. You cannot get water out of only one part of the bath. When you pull the plug out, the water level reduces evenly. This is the same with body fat. Exercise big, eat clean, stay consitant and your bodyfat content will reduce evenly.
Your biggest exercises are; squats, deadlifts, cleans and snatches, presses and pulls as well as single are/leg variations.
In addition to basic strength training, short duration high intensity cardio routines are excellent for shifting body fat off.
